Weekender Cap Pattern

Directions for this project inThe Knitter's Bible: Knitted Accessories, shown below. Adorably casual and generously sized, the Weekender Cap is ideal for relaxed outings. Knit in eight separate sections which are then sewn together with seams on the outside creating ridge details. The individual sections are shaped using various decrease stitches such as k2tog and ssk and the sections could also be knit in different colors for a playful look. The soft brim is accomplished by picking up stitches around the edge after the hat is assembled. If you want to make a smooth cap, it would be simple to convert this pattern to knitting in the round.
